About Us

Recording and studio work is nothing foreign to us, as we have over 35 years in the industry..

…or something like that. But what really is BWS?

Guy Wehman, the founder and owner of GenWood Media, has over 50 albums to his credit having scored and conducted numerous symphony musicians along the way. Having a Masters Degree in Music Theory and Composition, his knowledge, expertise and thoughtful approach has help guide the many clients with whom he has worked. In addition to the studio work, Guy is also accomplished in broadcast media, having won awards for his jingles, being a part of the local Ad Club wherever he has resided (4) former president of AdFed SunCoast and working over 20 years in radio doing production and voice over work.

Add to the mix – Jonathan Wehman, who at a young age watched his father in the studio,  while developing a love for that and music.  A  Percussionist/Drummer by trade, Jon was able to expand upon his craft in and out of school. Having nearly 16 years in the industry himself from playing in Studio and Tours.  Jonathan’s love of the recording process has driven him to expand upon his father’s vision; to bring high quality production values to every client, with clear and warm sounds to a finished product – be it a single internet release, a CD project release or a piece of production music for a client with a corporate focus.

Briarwood Studios is the never finished “work in progress”. We say that – because we strive to become better everyday and believe our “Best” project is the “Next” project and that we continue to build upon the past.

While Jon will operate the Ohio based studio in Stow, Ohio. Which caters more to the smaller acoustic projects, bands, etc., Guy in the SW Florida studio caters more to the voice over projects, ADR, Audio Design work for broadcast and film/video and the larger sounds.

Our Florida studio, probably better known as GenWood Post, even though part of the Briarwood Studios, also has as a plus Guy’s 9′ Concert Grand Steinway piano. A completely rebuilt 1981 instrument that looks like a 2017 piano – yet still has the warmth and sound that only a Steinway can deliver.

We look forward to working with you on your next project. Psst – did  we mention how nice it is to work in Florida in the winter?
